Being Singularly Devoted

Being Singularly Devoted...Is important.

Multi-tasking may work in other areas of your life, like washing the dishes and cooking, working out and watching a lecture, etc. But it's something that doesn't work when it comes to your relationship with God. You can't juggle between Jesus and his will and you and your own. Like the verses below will illustrate, serving two masters fully and devotedly is impossible. Sometimes it is necessary to check yourself and buckle down on bad habits.

1 Corinthians 10:21 "You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons."

Matthew 7:17 & 18 "So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. (18) A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, not can a diseased tree bear good fruit."

Luke 9:23 "And he (Jesus) said to all, "If anyone would come after me, let him take up his cross daily and follow me.""

John 3:20 & 21 "For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. (21) But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be seen clearly that his works have been carried out in God."
