Comfort

Comfort is a thing that we tend to seek, as humans. We adjust our bodies in our beds, flailing around until we can get to sleep. If we are thirsty, we try to find a drink, and if we are in danger, we seek to flee from it.
But, what if we should stay? What if we should seek out what scares us, leaving the "cozy" behind? An excerpt from 1 Peter 2:11 MSG states this quite plainly. "Friends, this world is not your home, so don't make yourself cozy in it ..."
We were not meant to just settle for the comfortable. God calls us out into the storms, out into the pain and hurt. We grow like sprouts, springing from the earth, but how can we continue to flourish with our Father if we are afraid of a little rain?
"Can we be casual in the work of God-- Casual when the house is on fire, and the people are in danger of being burned?" -Duncan Campbell
Before shushing the voice telling you to stand tall, before retreating back into egotistical ideals, and twisted standards, wait. You were made for more, we were made for more. Yes, that is your voice, bold and strong, scream again to the heavens your love of Jesus.
