Church Notes

There were some pretty interesting thoughts that brewed up in my mind and through my pen last Sunday at church-- Here is one:

The pastor voiced a statement, one that is not too unfamiliar to those of the Christian community, and it was, "And He (Christ) gave sight to the blind." Now, this is in reference to the many miracles Jesus did, recorded in the gospel of Luke (which was the specific chapter we were looking at that day), in the Bible.

I started to think of this statement differently, then, wondering what God had to show me. Then came the thought, 'in a way Christ Jesus restores the blind in heart and mind'.

From a different angle I see that He restores our "sight" by opening our hearts and minds again or for the first time, if we are willing. Maybe we have grown cataracts over our hearts, unwilling and cold, or maybe we have just opened them for the first time. Wherever we are in life God already knows the way, and for many... sometimes the next step is just taking off the blindfold.
